Professor Engin Beksac from Trakya University's Art History Department is heading the earthworks squad inward the ancient site of Sinankoy.

Beksac said their squad unearthed the base of operations of the church, where the basis stones of the edifice are inward practiced condition.

"Initial bear witness shows us that it is 1 of the oldest churches of [[Eastern]] Thrace," Beksac said.

Eastern Thrace, which is today role of modern of Turkey, comprises of Edirne (historically known every bit Hadrianopolis), Tekirdag in addition to Kirklareli provinces.
